<description>Privacy is a fundamental human right, essential to autonomy and the protection of human dignity, serving as the foundation upon which many other human rights are built. If intrusive surveillance companies are allowed to continue their malpractices with further adoption of Bitcoin, this could become a threat to personal safety, human dignity, the operation of a free market and ultimately, a free society. This panel will discuss privacy of the on-chain footprint and privacy of the off-chain payments in the light of most recent technological developments like Taproot, Schnorr, PTLCs, Coinjoins, Trampoline and Swaps, as well as what areas need further development and resources. Panelists: Adam Ficsor - Wasabi Wallet Bastien Teinturier - Software Developer ACINQ Openoms - Raspiblitz Host: Stephan Livera - Host of the Bitcoin Podcast Bastien Teinturier is a software engineer at the Paris based Bitcoin tech company ACINQ. Founded in 2014, ACINQ is a French startup building products and services for the Bitcoin ecosystem. Bastien is working on both the Lightning Network specification and ACINQ's implementation. Adam is a .NET/C# developer, who got his first Bitcoin experience under Nicolas Dorier in Japan, where he co-authored "Programming the Blockchain in C#". While Nicolas moved on to creating BTCPay, Adam moved on to building privacy technologies for Bitcoin. This journey led to the creation of Wasabi Wallet, an open source privacy-focused Bitcoin wallet with built-in Coinjoin. Openoms is a Lightning Network researcher and a strong advocate for privacy, as well as using your own full node to interact with the Bitcoin Network. He is contributing to various FOSS Bitcoin projects, most notably Raspiblitz and the Joinmarket interface JoinInBox, that enables users to improve their on-chain footprint while earning yield on their Bitcoin. Stephan Livera is the host of the Stephan Livera Podcast, which is one of the world’s leading Bitcoin podcasts. With over 3M downloads it is ranked in the top 0.5% of podcasts globally. The podcast is focused on educational interviews about the economics and technology of Bitcoin. Stephan is also the head of Swan Bitcoin International, where he continues his role in Bitcoin education and helps to onboard HNWI, businesses and other entities into accumulating Bitcoin.
